About Us.......
Hi, I’m Ashley Laine — the owner and founder of Wild Fringe Turquoise.
Turquoise has always had a special place in my heart. What started as a personal collection quickly turned into a passion for helping others find pieces that speak to them the same way they do to me. Over time, I fell in love with Native-made jewelry — the craftsmanship, the history, and the stories behind each piece — and I never looked back.
In early 2025, I began researching artists and learning everything I could about authentic, handmade turquoise jewelry. By September 2025, Wild Fringe Turquoise officially launched with one goal in mind: to bring you high-quality, meaningful pieces straight from the source.
I work directly with talented Native artists, building real relationships and even collaborating on custom designs. Every piece you see has been carefully selected after countless hours of sourcing, learning, and connecting — because I truly believe you deserve the best of the best.
One of the most special parts of this journey has been traveling to Gallup, New Mexico, where I’ve had the honor of meeting artists in person, spending time in their shops, and seeing their work come to life firsthand.
Wild Fringe Turquoise isn’t just a business — it’s a passion, a community, and a way to connect you with authentic pieces that carry meaning, tradition, and beauty.
Meet the Artist
Lorenzo & Jerilyn Chee
Lorenzo and Jerilyn Chee are a Navajo husband-and-wife silversmith team known for creating beautifully handcrafted turquoise jewelry that reflects traditional Diné artistry.
Their work is rooted in classic Navajo techniques — featuring hand-cut stones, detailed stamp work, and bold cluster designs. Each piece carries a timeless, heirloom-quality feel while still being wearable for everyday life.
Lorenzo learned silversmithing from his father, Tim Yazzie, continuing a family legacy of Native craftsmanship. That foundation shows in the precision, balance, and authenticity of every piece they create together.
Hallmark:
“LJC”
Often stamped with “Sterling”
Typically found on the back of each piece
One of my favorite things about working with Lorenzo & Jerilyn is the heart behind their work. This is the kind of jewelry that’s been passed down through generations — not just in style, but in skill. Every piece feels intentional, and you can truly see the time and tradition in it.
Tim Yazzie
Tim Yazzie is a Navajo silversmith whose work reflects the strength and tradition of Diné jewelry-making. Known for his craftsmanship in sterling silver and turquoise, Tim represents a generation of artists who have helped preserve and carry forward traditional techniques.
Beyond his own work, Tim has played an important role in passing down his knowledge — most notably teaching his son, Lorenzo Chee, the art of silversmithing. His influence lives on through the next generation of Native artists.
Hallmark:
Variations of “Yazzie” or initials TY aligned or stacked
Often includes “Sterling”
Stamps may vary depending on the piece or time period
What I love most about Tim Yazzie’s work is the legacy behind it. This isn’t just jewelry — it’s knowledge, tradition, and craftsmanship being passed down. Getting to offer pieces connected to that kind of history is something really special to me.
A Note on Authentic Native Jewelry
Native artists don’t always use one single hallmark throughout their career — and that’s part of what makes these pieces so special.
Many artists:
Use different stamps over time
Work within family shops
Or hand-stamp pieces individually
That variation is a sign of real, handmade work, not mass production.
At Wild Fringe Turquoise, I take pride in sourcing directly from artists and building real relationships — so you can shop with confidence knowing your pieces are authentic.
Thank you for supporting not just Wild Fringe — but the artists, families, and traditions behind every piece. This is more than jewelry… it’s a story you get to wear.
